Create your own contact lists with rich social profiles
Have a look at our video tutorial on how to use Network:
Go to "Add contacts" and select an existing list in the left column or create a new list. Then select whether you want to upload contacts from an Excel/CSV file or paste them in manually. If you choose the latter option, you can write one email address per line. Then click "Add to Contacts". You will see a status bar of the upload process at the top.
Your contacts will be supplemented with social data such as Linkedin profiles, Twitter handles, topics they write about and Klout scores.
3.2 Edit and Delete Contacts To edit a contact, find the contact in the Network, tick the box next to it and click on the wrench icon next to Edit lists (highlighted in blue) or simply find the person and click on the Edit lists icon right below the email address.
All of the data (Klout score, social media, names etc) is automatically retrieved based on the information utility connected to the email address provided.
In order to sort a contact into one / multiple lists, tick the box next to the contact and click "edit lists".
In order to delete a contact, select the contact, and then click the trash can in the network menu (next to the lists and the invite button). Please note that if you delete a contact, the contact will automatically be removed from all lists.
3.3 Create lists Click on "lists" and then "create list".
3.4 Edit and Delete lists To edit a contact, click on the list and then click the wrench next to the current list. Click on the small trashcan to remove a list. Please note that if you delete a list, you will not lose contacts as they fall under the contacts list, located below the lists under the contacts heading.
3.5 Exclusives to contacts or lists If you want to send a press release to specific contacts or lists without publishing it live to your newsroom, you can use the “send message” function. . Fill in the name(s) of the list(s) in the top bar, or type in the email address if they are not already in your network. Here you can also create a bespoke subject line and message for that contact. Pull in draft content by clicking ”attach material” then select either your default reply-to address or your personal address. You can then click “preview” to see what your multimedia release will look like in someone’s inbox. Please not that attaching material will pull your inputted information from publish into the email as a series of links. It will look like a multimedia news release but will not be a heavy attachment that could get stuck in spam folders.
3.6 Invite contacts to become followers Tick the box to the left of the contacts and click on "Invite". You will get a box with automatically generated text, which you can amend if you wish. Click "Preview" to see what the invitation looks like. The followers of the newsroom get notifications on ALL content live from your newsroom.
NB: Contacts that are already following you will have a green tick icon to the top left of the picture.
