Conceived in a bar at 1am, at last year's UK Sales Conference the event seemed like a good idea at the time. Some of the Organising Committee members are clearly not made for cycling, however with a little encouragement and a few white lies the training programme is having its desired effect and we are all looking forward immensely to the challenge.
Lockton Gets in Gear has become the talk of the business. 100 colleagues and friends aim to raise more than £50,000. We have secured the generous sum of £15,000 from XL Catlin as key sponsors of the event. The money raised will be used to fund a piece of research to improve the success rates of children undergoing some of the most complex heart surgery.
You can link directly to our sponsorship page here. We will also be publishing details of Bernard the Bear's heroic attempt to cycle every leg of the journey with us.
Please pass this on to your friends, families and associates, and help us make this event a memorable landmark in Lockton's brief history in the UK.
Thank you for taking the time to read this note. It means an awful lot to so many people.
Many thanks,
The Lockton Gets in Gear Organising Committee.
Ian Cooper, Alex Boswell, Chris Tagg, Simon Scholfield, Rachel Gilliam, Carl Moore, Paul Jack, Alison Roome and Bernard the Bear (the official Lockton Gets in Gear mascot).
